Thanks for the reply...I'm more concerned about the recovery time and not being able to wear my leg, then the procedure...

General Discussion / Nerve removal or neuroma removal
« on: September 03, 2010, 07:11:22 PM »
Hi, I have been a LBK for 7 years now, I have constant non stop pain..most days it off the charts. I also have many zings, stabs, and zaps out of the blue..I have tried it all 3 nerve blocks,  all the anti seizure meds you can think of. Pain meds, farb block sock, lotions,  etc...The next suggestion is to remove the nerve or the neuroma they think it is...

Had any one gone through this? I'm wondering about the recovery time and very concerned if it grows back...I have been told it grows back..Any advice would be appreciated.

Dick, this infromation came right from the companies dept that handles the insurance claim, and that is what they got from my SENIOR ADVANTAGE CO. and MEDICARE. THEY called both of them and that is what they were told. Dont know how much clearer i can be  with out getting it in writting  and noterized for you. And also the last i heard and read that when OBAMA signed the bill the cut became effective then not next year or year 2014.

By that time OB wil not be president...Thank God..Absoultely the worse president in US history. People ge what they voted for..A idiot.

Jack:

Of course, each insurance plan has its own quirks.  So far, mine has not announced any changes since the Health Bill was signed.  The services I have been using haven't changed - - yet.

Out of curiosity, how does the cold affect your 'short leg'? I find that when wearing my old leg with all the extra layers that the cold isn't a worry. With my new leg (I'm still getting used to) it can get a little cold at times as the liner is very thin but then we wouldn't get the serious cold that a blizzard brings.

I love the "short Leg" LOL....My short leg actually  shrinks down and I can "feel" my toes they "feel" cold..
