General Discussion / Nerve removal or neuroma removal
« on: September 03, 2010, 07:11:22 PM »
Hi, I have been a LBK for 7 years now, I have constant non stop pain..most days it off the charts. I also have many zings, stabs, and zaps out of the blue..I have tried it all 3 nerve blocks,  all the anti seizure meds you can think of. Pain meds, farb block sock, lotions,  etc...The next suggestion is to remove the nerve or the neuroma they think it is...

Had any one gone through this? I'm wondering about the recovery time and very concerned if it grows back...I have been told it grows back..Any advice would be appreciated.

We have had our Central air conditioner on due to the humidity outside. Sometimes the humidity makes me swell up. But today I noticed a lot of  shrinkage  ::) I'm playing the sock game with the stump.. Has anyone else experienced this? ???

I could not get my leg off this morning to add a sock. After 2 hrs of trying I finally called my leg guy. He said come in.. So i drive to see him. He pushed on the button and nothing. "its really jammed" he said He hits it with a hammer it did not budge, he said roll down your liner. So I did he gets a cup with some water and pours it down the liner. :o :o I said what the heck... ??? Watch he said...Now slip out of the leg. BINGO it comes off he was able to release it. I had a sock jam! never had this before in 6 years. So if ever your in a jam a little water goes a long way and did not damage the mechanism. ;D

General Discussion / Kids say amazing things.
« on: March 15, 2009, 05:32:58 PM »
I work as a teaching assistand in a second grade class. I was having a bad zinger day and walking slow. On of the little boy's in my class took my hand and said I'll walk with you Mrs. E I said Oh thank you. Then he ask me "Mrs. E. Do you ever wish for a real leg" I said yes sometimes I do. He said "That's OK Mrs. E I love you just the way you are" and gave me a huge hug!  Needless to say I had tears in my eyes.

Kids are amazing and very empathetic. Some of the things that they say are very mature and wise for such a little child.
