General Discussion / Re: RSL Revolution foot

thanks everyone for the help.

I found the 'Accent' foot. Thanks for finding it but I don't know if it's the one that would me though. Its a bit too girlie for my tastes.

I understand what your saying and maybe if I were to study it I would feel different. But I just think of it as if I were hacked. Even if they did nothing, I would not be pleased. I would be like (although obviously not as bad) if someone was to break into my house and just look around and leave.

Thanks Jack. I wear a Alpha spirit liner.
I guess am just a bit apprehensive as the last few sockets weren't right and i had this notion that it may not be comfortable as it would like going from sleeping on a stack of mattresses to laying on the floor, but the way you describe it eases my worries.

I believe I may have mentioned this in the pas but has anyone have any experience with the "RSL Revolution", or the "variflex" foot? I can find some info on the Ossur page on the variflex but can't really seem to find anything on the RSL Revolution, although I did find a 'Revolution Range" on the Freedom Innovations website but nothing was called the 'RSL'...

I've been talking about getting a new leg for ages and even got two quotes. At the end of the day I did nothing and now I need to have thew quote revised. I do want to get the leg made as my current one must be 6 years old by now and I am wearing 6 cottons socks with it.
One thing though. I seem to need more padding than the 'normal' amp. I still get a bit sore even with 6 cotton and 1 gel liner and if I ever wear less socks I feel pain on the end of the leg. When I go from 1 gel and 6 cotton down to 1 gel and maybe 1 cotton wouldn't it be fairly painful because of less padding?

Millie was born named 'Lady' (I changed it when I got her) and she had all four legs. She was living in Galway city I believe and was hit by a car when she was around 8 months old. Her then owners didn't want a handicapped dog and gave her up to the GSPCA. She had one amputation but had to go back to take it all off as she was hitting it on things. I was looking for a dog anyway so when I saw their ad in the paper I called the GSPCA (Galway Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and met with the warden and eventually got Millie.
I'm sure Freud would have a field day as to why I got Millie. I don't know why myself. I was single when I got her (I am dating now) maybe I saw myself as her and didn't like the fact she was dismissed so out of hand, not that I ever was. Maybe in some bizarre way, to validate myself and to make my disability not important to others as I sometimes feared it might be in the dating scene... I had to validate her and basically not see her disability as a factor to loving her, which it wasn't. hmmm deep stuff. (and so you know me and Millie are NOT dating! ha ha)

A few more last pictures of Millie.

(Millie and my then kitten 'Ray'. Ray and his sister Amy would sleep with Millie in her bed. Crazy)

Unfortunately the kayak can't be modified and I have tried to her in it. It just didn't work. She's capsize me in a heartbeat. I have thought about as little raft but I would tend to think she's leap off at the worse possible time. I think I need to basically leave her at home when ever I go swimming or in the kayak.
I'm glad you liked the article Mitchee. I wrote it then they put changed a lot of it to make it sound a bit child-like. I made them change their first version as they had me saying things like "I'm so glad we're both amputees..." and basically made up their own story.

She's a labrador. A good guard in respects that she'll bark at strangers but if a robber would throw a stone or a ball she's take off after it.

Millie is doing just fine. 'We' went kayaking yesterday. I live next to a lake and the weather was brilliant so I went for a paddle. Millie thought I was taking her for a swim. She's swim towards me then I would usher her ashore,. She'd run along the rocky shore (some cliffs) then jump in again and try and catch me. I was worried she'd drown herself so I had to cut my little voyage short. So, we just went to the beach.

Here's herself. Now you know where rainbows come from. Millies head.

I wouldn't be offended either but I  would tend to agree with uScotts thoughts.

I'm not religious but there may be members of the forum here that have many different kinds of beliefs. I wouldn't want anyone to feel censored at all but I tend to like it when forums such as this stay neutral/non-religious.
