Ian, Allen used his ISP's gateway (The default address of a network or Web site. It provides a single domain name and point of entry to the site. IE. your ISP ) IP address.

Like Steve C, I'm here for amputee related stuff. Steve, "double knit jumpsuits" out of interest would you argue for or against?

Obviously, there are people out there who have never heard of spam filter or blocker.

Or maybe some ISPs can't keep up with the the endless counter measures needed as the spammers find work a rounds for the blocks and filters. I have always used blockers and filters, but the fact is once your email address gets targeted you end up spending more time dealing with that than reading the mails that count. I think that Identity theft is the real issue. The easiest way to have your identity stolen is to use file sharing, Windows provides two methods for sharing files directly from your computer. You can share files from any folder on your computer. Anyone with limited computer knowledge could potentially have access to all your personal files.

PLJ  Steve, I couldn't agree with you more. Last year I ended up changing ISP and email address due to spam.

Thanks for letting us know, Allen.

General Discussion / Re: how do you fell about your looks
« on: March 25, 2008, 07:54:57 PM »
Hello,

Now when I look at myself in the mirror I see myself as who I am - a 30 year old blond (dyed, of course), with a decent figure and a prettyish face, and, if I am wearing my leg that looks like a leg, two fairly good legs.

Fi, sorry to hear about your fall, something I have done... yet. Congrats on your wedding.

My wife has asked if she can borrow your mirror :)

PLJ

I also think it is a great idea. If you think that my ramblings with help then go for it.  Being a relatively new bilateral amputee I have learned a lot from yourself and Dick. I've not contributed much but, I have read everything. Printing the information for others to read is no different from being sat in front of a PC and reading it.

Hi Jeff and welcome. Great pictures, bought back memories of when my girls were that age, which only seems like yesterday. Where does the time go, I'm told I'm going to be a grandfather before the years out.

My History / Re: Introduction from another club member

I am comfortable with being am amputee, and when I get up each morning I put my leg on just like getting dressed or putting glasses on to see.

Hi Dave, nice to meet you. That's how I put it to my wife, kids and work colleagues.

Joe,

Like Marilyn I'm also relatively new to the amputee and forum life. You have helped me, I have always followed your posts, not always agreed with everything you have said, but I have learnt a lot, smiled a lot and even laughed out loud.
I know that you have a battle on your hands and I also know you have the inner strength to take it on.

My thoughts are with you.

OBL  PLJ, I do not have that option, I can see the Karma ratings but cannot vote.
Karma isn't mentioned in the 'Help' section either?

can you see it under other's names?

That is where I'm looking - nothing.

I agree with jmoore, what is there to be gained by voting for or against someone's post.  If I like what someone has written I will post and say so and if I don't like what has been written I'll post a reasoned argument. That way everyone knows what makes me happy and what doesn't. The Karma scoring doesn't show why or what for.

under our names I've noticed 'applaud' and 'smile', these seem to increase your Karma ratings... you can't do it to yourself though.

The applaud and smile do not appear under any names on my browser.
