No, it's not time yet. It's helped me out more times than I can remember. We should all just post more!

Well, I guess we've been "saved by the bell"! Apparently, they used to bury folks before they were dead on occasion.  They'd set up a string from the casket to allow the buried folks, who were still alive, pull the string to ring a bell to let the folks doing the burying know that they had jumped the gun. Which leads me to ask, where did the expression "jumped the gun" come from? Glad to see you cyber friends checked in. I'll try to post more often too.

The pic I attached is from Victoria, B.C. where I live, down by the water with Mt. Baker on the U.S. side in the horizon.

I heard that the expression 'jumped the gun" originated from athletics. In foot races where a starter pistol was used, when a runner started before the gun went off they had 'jumped the gun".

You learn something everyday!

Nice picture. I was in Victoria while serving on subs in the Navy. A nice port of call. As I recall the local women were stunning as well. Unfortunately for me they were completely immune to my charms, but stunning never the less. My favorite refusal came from a young Victoria woman. When I asked if she would like to dance she replied "I can't, I'm holding my drink".  :D

Not a very good excuse!  Just look what she missed out on Steve.... ;)      Start a story {our own} like we did on another forum.  U use only three words when U add to the story...it can go on any topic & in anyway U want,  U can add facts or just silly thoughts.   I will start it out and anybody can chime in.   If U don't want to do this we don't have to...just a thought to keep the wheels turning alittle more.   :)

In old times before the internet, on a dark & stormy night, he sat wondering, where is my sweetie?  Then she called.."I'm waiting Love".  "but where, Love?"  he cried forlornly.  "Here, over here, waiting for you!". He turns and is amazed.  In the pool he thrashes wildly as he never learned to swim he reaches out and she slips, suddenly she is wishing she had a life preserver. Just then an angel in white, appeared before her.  "Grab your love before they sink to the bottom...oops too late"  "Noooooo" screamed the broken-hearted lover.

As the scream echoed he heard a voice inside his head.  "Where is everyone?  I am alone and wished I had been more careful!" Then a gurgling sound came from behind where he stood.  "What the H#$L was that sound?  We need to get outta here!  Something is coming.  What can it be, surviving this cold?

I have a notion. Can we do away with the three word rule? Make it one sentence instead? It might give more flow to the story.

Safely at the side of the pool he thanks the somewhat smelly dog.  "I'm safe but I still haven't found my sweetie!"
The dog turns and says, "Sure, she's on the bottom of the pool, but in your heart of hearts who deserves your love?  Think about it, a good looking woman or a talking dog?"
"Damn, thats a tough one" said the man "Are you housebroken?"
"On one hand, dogs are always glad to see you.
 :-*And always give you undying love and support no matter what you have done. Try it yourself, put a woman in the trunk of your car with a dog and see which of the two is friendly to you when you let them out after a few hours" said the dog smiling.  That's not a very hard question...Heeheehee.
On the other hand there are some things only a woman can do for you!  She got you there, sweetie.  ;o}
After several minutes pacing back and forth and thinking of brilliant reasons that a woman is better than a dog he realizes that she still lays motionless on the bottom of the pool..."Why didn't I rescue her before having a conversation with a dog!" he says.  Why didn't you bring her up from the bottom....did you actually think that dog looking into those Big Blues/Greens of yours really understood what you were saying.  If he can talk, he can certainly understand what I'm saying!
