Crap
« on: October 24, 2011, 10:57:23 PM »
Just found out my 51 year old brother has lymphoma.
Don't know any details re type/stage, but this ain't good.

I work with him every day.
He was a rock during my surgery and recovery.
He is a crusty, stubborn bastard.
I see him kicking cancers' ass.

Where's that whiskey?

I'm so sorry to hear that Guzz. Your brother sounds likes the type to beat this thing. You said that he was your rock during your surgery and recovery. I imagine he'll be saying the same about you in the coming months.

I keep the whiskey in the press (hutch?) in the living room. Its next to the rum, gin, scotch and poitîn (irish 'moonshine'). The Guinness is in the mini-fridge. Grab a glass and help yourself.

Hi Guzz

I have heard that auto stem cell transplant is the best treatment for this type of cancer. Don't let the insurance company tell him that it is "experimental'
good luck

Guzz,  Sorry to hear about your brother but if he anything like you he'll kick some a** and be back on his feet.  It's your turn to be the rock.  Best wishes & good luck!  P.S. The whiskey is in the cupboard in the kitchen, help yourself.  Annieg

Well, what a roller coaster of a week.
Prelim tests showed lymphoma, docs were making plans to begin treatment ASAP
based upon final testing results.

Today he gets a a phone call, complete tests show no cancer afterall.
Will require some treatment for a mass, but no blood cancer.
I would have been pissed at the doctor.  Brother is just shickled tit-less to find out he doesn't have cancer. They were erring on the side of caution, but Damn!

His attitude from the start was "I don't lose." Apart from a divorce 20 years ago, that is pretty much truthful.
Only person I ever heard of beating cancer in 72 hours.

Wheww!. What a relief.

Score one for the Good Guys!

I found the whiskey. ;)

Great News Guzz. I bet he has a new release on life after that sort of scare.
